Texas native Rodney Hayden is set to release his brand new album "Down the Road" and if you have been paying attention to the mainstream as of late you will notice that Texas has been putting out a certain brand of country from Pat Green to Jack Ingram to The Randy Rogers Band and Hayden is going to fit right in with those artists. Right from the get-go, with the title track "Down The Road" leading the way you are sucked into Hayden's bouncy rhythm's and his voice, which more often than not begs to be compared to Pat Green, will more than likely hook you on this album. He plays his Texas brand of country and will keep you bouncing along with him as he sings songs that anyone can relate to about love (Whoever Wrote This Song), a chance meeting (Midnight In Memphis), and looking back on life (It Goes By Too Fast). This is a mostly upbeat record that will keep you listening and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to hear Rodney Hayden's name coming up time and time again when people mention Texas artists. If you are a fan of the light-hearted, upbeat music being put out by Pat Green than give Rodney Hayden a spin. It is well worth it. Great album!
