At age 5, Matt received a standing ovation in kindergarten for singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. Needless to say the music bug had bitten, and 25+ years later, Matt has gone full throttle into his music career.

Some of the most important journeys throughout Matt’s life are the ones that Matt experienced early on. In high school, Matt’s love for music had a hard time overcoming his intense stage fright. “I almost failed choir,” Matt says with a grin. And his dedication to music truly shows thru, as Matt is a self-taught artist teaching himself to play guitar. “Country music is real life to me,” says Matt. “My life experiences and struggles allow me to sing my music with a true conviction.”

As the years passed on, Matt’s talent finally overcame his fear, and his performances now reflect his superstar persona. And that persona came right on time! Recent years have been good to Matt. His 2007 song Fire it Up is now featured on the Chrome Shop Mafia of “Trick my Truck” website. It was a great merger of the two entities from Missouri. It is now one of Matt’s most played songs. In 2009, he became a finalist on Colgate Country Showdown, hosted by LeAnn Rimes.

Currently, Matt is in studio cutting his 3rd CD, under the watchful eye of Producer Chris Lieck in San Antonio, TX. “Things are really picking up for me and the band in Texas,” blogs Matt off of his MySpace page. One of his new songs “Float Trip” is written about Texas’s favorite pass time of floating down the river.

Matt is very thankful for his family and friends, but most of all to the Lord for his God given talent. He is having the time of his life! He hopes to continue to share that talent to all of you in the near future.
