I want you to know... I can't remember a time when I didn't want to sing. I started piano lessons in 1st grade. My sister & I would take turns standing behind the window curtains and wait anxiously for the other one to pull it open where we would sing Nancy Sinatra's "Boots Are Made for Walking" holding a hairbrush for a microphone. Every morning at breakfast we would listen to the local a.m. country station on my dad's little radio. Merle Haggard was my favorite. As I was growing up I sang Tammy Wynette, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt songs. My favorite song to sing was "Apt. #9". It was around 7th grade and I thought I knew what "Loneliness Surrounds Me" meant. If you're an aspiring entertainer at a young age you are a little different or at least I was. I went through all the motions of doing normal kid things but inside I had an enormous drive that never went away. I have always felt that God touched me in a special way. He gave me the gift to communicate in song. I sing about things I know about. Sadness and joy that I have felt and lived.
