He sings. He writes his own songs. But make no mistake – Douglas Kent is no singer/songwriter. You won’t find him perched on a stool in a dimly lit coffee shop, and you will never hear him singing ironically hip lyrics about a broken heart. Rather, Doug writes country songs with the bitter grit of reality, and performs them with a passion that can only come from life experience. He is real, and so his music. Likewise, Kent’s band shares the same vision for his contribution to the emerging Americana genre. This group of talented musicians include blazing bluegrass-inspired fiddle, honky-tonkin’ lead guitar, and a rhythm section that makes sure each song is great for dancing. Born and raised just outside of Dallas, Douglas Kent has lived in Austin for several years now, and is having no trouble acquiring a substantial and loyal following of fans.
